Jim Corbett National Park is a Place of True Adventure
Jim Corbett National Park has always been a wildlife destination, famous for its Tigers, its elephants, Jungle Safari n much more. But in the past few years, due to the heavy inflow of tourists from all around the world, a lot more activities have evolved in the areas nearby. Looking at activities like Climbing, Rappelling, Cycling, Flying fox, Burma Bridge, River Crossing, Zorbing, Paint Ball shots, ATVs, Horse Riding, Jungle Safaris, Jungle Trekking, Hiking, Fishing & now paragliding & powered paragliding, Jim Corbett National Park has become a place of True Adventures.
Jim Corbett Jeep Safari has always been & still is the most adventurous element of Jim Corbett National Park. Imagine sitting in an open jeep & going in deep inside the tiger land with just one guide & a driver, both of whom are not at all equipped with any kind of security arms, but that’s the way it should anyway be. In Indian jungles, elephants are always more dangerous than tigers especially if you are seated in a vehicle. Having said that, nearly no casualties has ever happened in Jim Corbett National Park with any tourist & the amazing experience of a Jungle Safari in itself is an adventurous one. Jim Corbett, the legendary hunter turned conservationist has shot many man-eating tigers & leopards in his life out of which, the Man eater tiger of Mohaan was a very famous one. The trail on which he followed the tiger & shot him is now available for tourists to hike on. You can get a guided jungle trek from Kath ki nao till bhakrakot where a local village guide will take you down n show the entire trail where the legendary Jim Carpet Saab followed that tiger n shot him down. Paragliding & powered paragliding has also been started in Jim Corbett National Park recently. Imagine flying over the jungle in a paraglider for a few minutes. If lucky, you might spot a big cat from the sky itself, who knows! Last but not the least, the most adventurous thing to do in Corbett National Park is staying deep inside the park area. A very few national parks in the country gives this privilege to the public.
Jim Corbett National Park has a total of some 20 Forest Rest houses built in the British era deep inside the park area, where there is no human settlements, nearly no electricity, no mobile signals, nothing, which are now run by the forest dept of Corbett Tiger Reserve as tourist rest houses. But due to a very small number of rooms & the demand so high, getting the bookings there is like winning a battle in its own. A few tour operators like us are there in Corbett National Park who can improve your chances of getting the bookings done in return of some nominal service charge. Staying deep inside the park with such an abundance wildlife around is surely a kind of adventure you would not want to miss !
